Getting
Ready to Buy
You’re ready
to buy - or maybe you're just ready to start seriously thinking
about buying a Richmond area home. There’s a lot you can
do to prepare. With so much information available at your fingertips,
you may already be doing a lot of your own research. Here are
a few things to keep in mind while you get started.
Determine your
price range and get pre-approved!
Start by finding out how much house you can afford/qualify for
and what you are willing to pay. Your Skye Bruce Properties’
REALTOR® can refer you to a mortgage loan officer
who can assist you with determining what level of loan you qualify
for, how much down payment is required, what will your monthly
payment be, etc. Getting pre-approved for a mortgage will help
focus your home search and being pre-approved for a mortgage will
make your offer stronger when you are ready to buy.
List what’s
important to you
Imagine your ideal Richmond area home and community. Now make
a list of everything you would like in your home and community.
Make a list of requirements and features and prioritize them.
Your list can include items such as number of bedrooms/baths,
size of yard, style of home, specific schools, convenient shopping,
etc.
Be Patient
- Look around
Some people look at many homes before finding just the right one.
Some see “the one” immediately others take longer.
It’s a process and your Skye Bruce Properties REALTOR®
will be there with you every step of the way. Looking at lots
of different homes can help you discover what you really want
in your new home. Your Skye Bruce Properties REALTOR®
will tour homes with you and create a personal checklist for each
home.
